The Godley Ladycats claimed the Class 4A Division II area championship with a two-game sweep of Krum Ladycats on April 29, 2026, at Krum High School.

Godley earned a 4-0 victory in Game 1 before closing out the series with an 8-4 win in Game 2 to secure the area title and advance in the UIL playoffs.

With the sweep, the Ladycats continue their strong postseason run and will move on to the regional semifinals, where they will face either North Lamar or Carthage. Game details for the next round will be announced once finalized.

Godley advances after another dominant season, highlighted by an undefeated district championship and continued success in the playoffs.

The varsity roster includes Emerie Brawner, Brooklyn Branum, Harlee Bullard, Karlee Clark, Kinzlee Durham, Halle Gross, Hayden Keeton, Savannah Ortega, Tatum Peacock, Katie Ponce, Jaydin Riale, Bayleigh Richardson, Bella Salmeron and Alissa Sullivan. Team managers are Marissa Bethell and Saleece Hill.

The Ladycats are led by head coach Rus Mayes and assistant coach Kristi Mayes.
