The Godley Ladycats closed another outstanding season in the Class 4A Division II regional semifinals against North Lamar on May 7-8, 2026, at McKinney Boyd High School.

North Lamar claimed the best-of-three playoff series with a 9-1 win in Game 1 and a 6-4 victory in Game 2.

The Ladycats advanced to the regional semifinals after sweeping Krum in the area round and continued a season filled with accomplishments. Godley captured its fifth consecutive district championship with an undefeated district record while extending the program’s streak to 51 consecutive district wins. Over the past six seasons, the Ladycats compiled a 56-4 district record.

The varsity roster included Emerie Brawner, Brooklyn Branum, Harlee Bullard, Karlee Clark, Kinzlee Durham, Halle Gross, Hayden Keeton, Savannah Ortega, Tatum Peacock, Katie Ponce, Jaydin Riale, Bayleigh Richardson, Bella Salmeron and Alissa Sullivan. Team managers were Marissa Bethell and Saleece Hill.

The Ladycats were led by head coach Rus Mayes and assistant coach Kristi Mayes.
