The Godley Ladycat basketball head coach and two players hit milestone achievements during the 2023-24 Christmas Break.

Coach Mark Chauveaux won his 600th game on Dec. 29 when the girls defeated Waco Robinson 50-33 during tournament play in Canyon.

The Ladycat head coach since 1999, Chauveaux also serves as the district’s girls athletic director.  Prior to Godley, the coach was in Adrian and Westbrook.  Chauveaux took the Ladycats to the state tournament in 2017.

Senior Logan Reed scored 27 points during a 65-39 win over Kennedale on Jan. 2 to hit the 1500-point hallmark.  Her teammate, junior Bree Hubbard, surpassed 1000 points with a 19-point showing during the GHS girls’ 65-52 victory over Alvarado on Jan. 5.

Following the team advancing to the regional tournament last year, both Ladycats won all-state accolades from the Texas Girls Coaches Association, with Reed also honored as all-state by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
