The Godley Ladycats’ postseason run came to a close February 20, 2026, with a hard-fought 43-40 loss to Frisco Panther Creek in the Class 4A Division I area round of the UIL girls basketball playoffs.

Played at Birdville ISD's W.G. Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City, the matchup remained close throughout, with both teams battling possession by possession in the final minutes. With the win, Frisco Panther Creek advances to the regional semifinals to face Pleasant Grove.

Godley advanced to the area round after capturing the bi-district championship with a 67-39 victory over Wilmer-Hutchins. The Ladycats also finished the regular season with an 11-1 district record, earning their fourth consecutive district title.

The varsity squad included Kase Grimsley, Lila Heiner, Ryleigh Hillis, Presley Hindash, Sadey Hughey, Tatum Peacock, Katie Ponce, Bryce Reed, Kinlee Smith and KK Wilson.

Head coach Mark Chauveaux was assisted by Kristi Mayes and Skyler Warrick, along with athletic trainer Nichole Harmon. Team managers were Abby Hughey and Abbie Smith.

The Godley girls conclude the season as district and bi-district champions, capping another successful year of Ladycat basketball.
