Godley High School senior Tripp Karnes has announced plans to continue his golf career at East Texas Baptist University following a signing ceremony held March 27, 2026.

Located in Marshall, the Tigers compete in NCAA Division III athletics as a member of the American Southwest Conference.

A three-year golfer and current team captain, Karnes has helped lead the Wildcats to two consecutive district championships and has the team positioned for a potential third at the upcoming district meet following a strong spring season. He also played football, earning two years of varsity experience along with all-district and academic all-state honors.
