Katie Jokel, school nurse at Godley 6th Grade Campus, is moving into a new position as the Godley ISD health services coordinator. The school district made the announcement on May 18, 2023.
“Healthcare and community are two things that are very important to me. Being a school nurse has allowed me to care for the future of Godley,” Jokel said. “Now, as I step into this new role, I not only get to continue to provide healthcare to our Wildcats, I get to do it while assisting all of our district's amazing school nurses.”
A registered nurse, Jokel will coordinate all district health programs, coordinate efforts of campus nurses and serve on the School Health Advisory Council.
“Katie has been an excellent campus nurse for Godley ISD. She will do a great job in this new role,” commented Brian Hunt, the district’s director of safety and well-being.
A native of Rio Vista, Jokel earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tarleton State University. After working in critical care, she served as a registered nurse for Texas Oncology in Abilene for several years before coming to GISD as a nurse - first at Godley High School and most recently at the sixth-grade campus.
