Jodie Dickson, principal of R.B. Godley Elementary School, is bidding farewell as the campus leader at the end of the 2024-25 school year.

“It’s a bittersweet moment as I announce my resignation from Godley ISD. This district has truly been my home away from home, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally,” Dickson wrote in a message to parents and teachers.

Dickson began her service in Godley as a behavior and academic advisor in 2019 and was named the assistant principal for Godley Elementary School in 2020.  She was promoted to principal for the configured R.B. Godley campus in 2022.

“To my amazing staff, thank you for your dedication in making this school a place where students thrive every day. I’m proud of all we’ve accomplished together and will always cherish the memories and connections I’ve made with our students and community,” Dickson continued.

“Jodie Dickson has been an incredible campus leader for our students, staff and families,” remarked Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear.  “Jodie has definitely made a difference here in Godley, and she has been a great advocate for both teachers and kids.  We applaud her service to our community and wish all the best for her and her family.”

Dickson began her educational career in 2000 as a fifth grade teacher at T.J. Lee Elementary School in Irving.  She later taught third and fifth grades at Gulledge Elementary School in Plano.

The principal holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of North Texas and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University.
