Danyel Jinkens will be joining Godley High School as assistant principal beginning in the 2023-24 school year. The school district made the announcement on June 14, 2023.
“I am really excited to welcome Mrs. Jinkens to Godley High School. She brings a wealth of experience that will greatly benefit our students and community,” said Principal Kurtis Flood. “Specifically, she has spent time working in higher education and will provide wisdom for our students in how to prepare for life after graduation. She is a collaborator and excited to start working with our Wildcats."
Beginning her school educational career in 2013 with the Mabank school district, Jinkens taught eighth grade English, language arts and reading while also coaching cross country and track. In 2015, she moved to Crandall, where she continued to teach eighth graders while serving as the campus ESL coordinator and coaching the high school cross country team; she later became an elementary instructional coach while continuing her coaching duties.
Since 2019, Jinkens has been in Prosper ISD, where she first taught fourth grade at Stuber Elementary School before moving to Rushing Middle School teaching eighth grade English, language arts and reading as well as coaching cross country and serving as sponsor for student council and National Junior Honor Society.
Jinkens earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of North Texas.
While completing her undergraduate degree, Jinkens was a regional director for the University of Maryland University College serving higher education needs of adult students in the workforce and U.S. military.
