Godley High School senior Makayla Jetton announced plans to continue her cross country career at Midwestern State University during a signing ceremony on February 24, 2026.

Located in Wichita Falls, the MSU Mustangs compete in NCAA Division II as members of the Lone Star Conference.

Jetton helped lead the Ladycats to the UIL state cross country meet this school year after earning a silver medal at the regional competition with a time of 12:05.49. According to Ladycat head coach Keith McFarland, her finish marked the highest individual placement at a regional cross country meet in school history.

In track and field, Jetton is also a standout distance runner. She set a new school record in the girls 800-meter run in 2025 with a time of 2:24.36 and is a two-time regional qualifier in the 3,200-meter run.

Beyond athletics, the GHS senior balances a full schedule as a member of the Pride of Godley marching band and percussion ensemble.
