January 2024 is designated as School Board Recognition Month, and Godley ISD is celebrating its trustees for their dedication and commitment to the district and its students.
Members of the GISD Board of Trustees are: Matt McKittrick, president; Craig Stevenson, vice president; Terrie Goodloe, secretary; Marissa Abbott; Christa Heiner; Kayla Lain; Dennis McFarlin.
“Our school board members are volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices for our district – all without pay. Their goal is always focused on the future success of the children in our district,” commented Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear. “Celebrating School Board Recognition Month is one way to say thanks for all they do.”
“It’s more important than ever before that communities support public education so that today’s students are prepared to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow. Please take a moment and let our school board trustees know we support them and that their dedicated service is recognized and truly appreciated,” Dear said.
The theme of this year’s School Board Recognition Month is “Locally Elected, Community Connected,” which highlights the collaboration among school leadership, teachers and parents on behalf of students.
