Godley High School indoor percussion ensemble won the silver medal at the NTCA state championship on April 5, 2025, at Forney ISD’s The OC.

The GHS ensemble finished second in Percussion Scholastic A with an overall score of 88.525, besting eight other schools at the contest with Weatherford winning the title at 90.950.  This marked a school record, according to GHS percussion director David Kennedy.

Competing with the show “Birds of a Feather,” the performance featured music by Billie Eilish, Frederic Chopin and Antonio Vivaldi.

Ensemble members are Fin Adedoja, Paiton Bailey, Katie Ballweg, Valerie Botello, Weldon Browning, Miley Cassio, John Gillard, Tucker Holzheuser, Nightly James, Makayla Jetton, Gavin Jorgenson, Noah Knepper, Gabe Lal, Glenn Leevy, Ailea Martinez, Jesus Morales, Issabelle Ortega, Julie Roach, Ruby Rodriguez, Julia Roy, Jay Sillivan, Mackenzie Stokey, Dex Swigger, Leila Tran, Ruby Villegas, Kannon Ward and Landon Wolinski.

At earlier competitions, Godley placed third on Mar. 29 at Burleson High School, scoring 83.750, third at the WCI Dallas Regional on Mar. 22 with a score of 79.7, fourth on Mar. 8 at Lewisville High School scoring 73.4, and first on Feb. 22 at Burleson Centennial High School with a score of 74.7.

Indoor percussion will hold a public performance during the Night of Performing Arts on Monday, Apr. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the GHS Arena alongside the high school dance team and winterguard.
