Godley High School iLead students are making a big impact for the school district, with students saving thousands of dollars on Chromebook repairs, according to a new estimate from the teacher.

The minor repairs to student Chromebooks totals only $8,911.06 over the past year, reported GHS teacher Summer McIntyre.  This included 716 tickets across all GISD campuses - down from 861 the previous year.

Had the district outsourced this work, repairs would have cost around $60,860, according to McIntyre.

iLead students are gaining real-world experience in information technology, a career and technical education program at The WILD, the new four-story CTE center housing numerous programs with over 40 classrooms, learning spaces and student-led enterprises.

This four-year program prepares students for careers in database management, computer systems analysis, and technology design and maintenance. Beginning with computer literacy and IT fundamentals, students progress to hardware maintenance, ethics, and safety in industry, then complete hands-on practicums in installing, diagnosing, and repairing computer systems—building the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world.
