Godley High School senior Sophia Hodges announced plans to continue her soccer career at St. Edward’s University during a signing ceremony held March 6, 2026.

Located in Austin, the Hilltoppers compete in NCAA Division II athletics in the Lone Star Conference.

A four-year varsity midfielder, Hodges helped lead the Ladycats to the Class 4A Division II regional finals last season, marking the program’s first postseason run in school history. Godley recorded three consecutive shutout victories during that playoff stretch.

As a junior, Hodges earned first-team all-district honors. She also received first-team All-Johnson County recognition when the entire Ladycat squad was named Johnson County Team of the Year.

Hodges was named the district’s co-midfielder MVP as a sophomore in 2024 and Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a freshman in 2023.

The GHS senior also competed in cross country, helping the Ladycats reach the state meet in both 2023 and 2025.
