Keri Grimsley, principal of Godley 6th Grade Campus, will be the new director of literacy for Godley ISD beginning in the 2023-24 school year.  The school district made the announcement on April 17, 2023.

As the literacy director, Grimsley will streamline curriculum across the district to ensure that district goals are being met and that programs are aligned among campuses.

“We are thrilled to have Keri’s experience in various grade levels and curriculum resources to help strengthen our literacy program,” commented Dr. Airemy Caudle, the district’s chief academic officer.

With 20 years of experience in public education, Grimsley has worked her entire career in Godley.  She began as a special education aide and later taught third and fourth grade at Godley Intermediate School.  Grimsley served as assistant principal for both Godley Elementary and Intermediate Schools before becoming principal of the elementary campus in 2017.  She moved to the sixth grade campus as principal in 2022 following the realignment of the district grade levels.

Raised in Godley, Grimsley earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Tarleton State University and a master's degree in educational administration from Lamar University.
