Tracey Green and Jaclyn Trussell will be leading Godley ISD elementary schools as principals beginning with the 2025-26 school year. Godley ISD made the announcement on April 15, 2025.
Green will take the helm at Pleasant View Elementary School, while Trussell will be the campus leader at R.B. Godley Elementary School.
“We were very impressed with both these ladies and their commitment to student learning and readiness while promoting a strong campus culture,” commented Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear. “I am excited to welcome Tracey to Godley, and I extend congratulations to Jaclyn on her dedicated service at GMS that helped prepare her for this new role.”
Green is currently the principal of North Joshua Elementary School, where she has led the campus since 2023. She previously was the school’s assistant principal beginning in 2019. Having entered public education in 1997, Green previously taught first and third grade in San Bernardino, California, Livingston Parish, Louisiana as well as Midland and Pecos in Texas. She served as a reading, writing and math interventionist in Burleson ISD from 2010 until 2017.
The new Pleasant View principal earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from National University in California and a master’s degree from Lamar. She was honored as a campus and district teacher of the year while working in Pecos and was named campus and district support teacher of the year in Burleson.
Trussell serves as assistant principal at Godley Middle School, where she has worked since 2021 after completing an administrative internship while teaching during the previous school year. Starting her teaching career in 2010, Trussell was a business and technology educator for grades 7-12 at Frenship High School, Grapevine High School, Rice High School and Highland Park Middle School before coming to Godley.
The new leader at R.B. Godley holds a bachelor’s of business administration from Midwestern State University and a master’s degree in learning technologies from the University of North Texas. Trussell completed a principal educator preparation program through Lamar University. She received the CTE Teaching Award of Excellence and was honored as a rookie business teacher of the year. While in Highland Park, she was nominated for campus teacher of the year.
Green succeeds Dr. Melissa Block, who was named the school district’s new chief human resources officer, while Trussell succeeds Jodie Dickson.
