Godley ISD elementary schools opened their doors to grandparents on September 8, 2023. 

Numerous grandparents are taking advantage of the opportunity to have lunch with their students in recognition of National Grandparents Day, which is observed in the United States on the first Sunday following Labor Day. 

“We are always excited to welcome families into our school campuses, and grandparents have a special bond with these children,” commented Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear.  “Through engagement of our parents and other family members, we can partner together for academic success and help each student to lead, grow and serve.”

Both Legacy and R.B. Godley Elementary Schools held special lunches for their visitors, while Pleasant View Elementary School welcomed grandparents during breakfast.
