Godley High School track and field teams delivered a strong overall performance at the District 10-4A meet, held April 8-9, 2026, at Godley High School’s Wildcat Stadium, highlighted by two individual championships and multiple top-three varsity finishes.

The Ladycats were led by standout performances from Makayla Jetton and Maddyn Martin, who each captured event titles. Jetton won the 3200-meter run, while Martin claimed the 100-meter hurdles title.

Emily Gboyah set a new school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.08, breaking the previous mark of 12.23 set by Talicia Crump at the UIL 2A State Championships on May 12, 2002.

Godley also recorded several second- and third-place varsity finishes, including Emily Gboyah (2nd, 100m), Leighton Murphy (2nd, 3200m; 3rd, 1600m), Makayla Jetton (3rd, 800m), Maddyn Martin (3rd, 300m hurdles), Brett Fancher (3rd, 110m hurdles), and Keegan Bohannon (3rd, discus).

As a team, the Ladycat varsity squad finished third overall, while the junior varsity girls earned a runner-up team finish. The Wildcats varsity boys placed fifth overall, and the junior varsity boys tied for fifth.

Godley athletes will next compete at the Area 9/10 meet on Wednesday, Apr. 15, at Wildcat Stadium.
