Godley Independent School District - Empowering Students

Logo Title

Three Godley ISD teachers were among recipients of grants from the Johnson/Somervell Counties Retired School Employees Association during a luncheon on May 14, 2025, in Cleburne.

Receiving the grants were Godley Middle School teachers Roger Lawson and Angie Pinkerton along with Pleasant View Elementary School teacher Heather Bryson.

Lawson will use the funds to purchase nine Makeblock Interactive Light & Sound robot add-on packs to enhance eighth grade robotics curriculum, while his GMS colleague Pinkerton, an eighth grade science teacher, will purchase the Tower Garden growing system to help students learn the properties of acids and bases.

At Pleasant View, Bryson will implement the grant in her fourth grade math and science classroom, where she uses whiteboards, Expo markers, money sets and other math manipulatives.

JSCRSEA is a local chapter of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, which represents retired public school teachers and other employees.
