Godley High School students capped a successful competition season by representing Texas and Godley ISD at the 2026 Educators Rising National Conference, held June 20-23, 2026, in Portland, Oregon, where one student made school history.

Caleb Auzenne earned third place in the nation in the Exploring Careers category, becoming the first Godley High School student to place at the national level in Educators Rising competition. His award-winning project focused on the role of an athletic director and head football coach, featuring research gathered through interviews and job-shadowing experiences with Godley ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Danny Dudgeon.

Also competing at the national conference were Jordan Minter and Yulissa Arteaga, along with Addison Coats and Zaylee Deponte, whose Teacher Created Materials projects also qualified for national competition, which capped a season of success for the GHS chapter.

The journey began in November when eight GHS students qualified for state competition at the TAFE Area 10 Conference at Tarleton State University-Fort Worth. Students advancing included Janice Aguilar in Exploring Careers – Administration; Katy Wrisley, Samantha Moore and Abigail Deo in Interactive Bulletin Board; and the Teacher Created Materials teams of Jordan Minter and Yulissa Arteaga and Addison Coats and Zaylee Deponte.

At the 42nd annual Teach Tomorrow Summit, the TAFE state conference held Feb. 26-28 in Dallas, Godley students continued their success. Auzenne qualified for nationals in Exploring Careers, while both Teacher Created Materials teams also earned national berths. Janice Aguilar received a silver medal in Exploring Administrative Careers, and Samantha Moore competed in the Interactive Bulletin Board event.

The Texas Association of Future Educators is a Career and Technical Student Organization within the Education and Training career cluster. The organization prepares future teachers and child-development professionals through leadership opportunities, classroom experiences and competitive events.
