Over forty Godley High School juniors and seniors toured Tarleton State University on October 2, 2023.
The group visited the university’s main campus in Stephenville to tour facilities and experience program offerings and study opportunities.
Godley ISD is a member of Tarleton’s Distinguished High School Partnership Program, which offers automatic admission with no required ACT or SAT scores for students in the top 25% of each graduating class. The university also allots scholarships for GHS graduates and provides ongoing support for financial aid, admissions and degree counseling as well as work study and peer mentorships.
Beginning this school year, GHS offers three dual enrollment courses through the Tarleton Today program. Initial offerings are college algebra, animal science and agricultural economics with plans for additional courses in future school years.
Tarleton was the first of several tours scheduled throughout the school year, according to GHS assistant principal Danyel Jinkens. “We are investing in the next generation to offer avenues of excellence for their futures,” she commented.
