Several Godley ISD students were recognized for outstanding entries in the annual Soil and Water Conservation District contests, celebrating creativity, writing and environmental awareness. Awards were presented during the 55th Annual Awards Banquet on April 27, 2026, at the Cleburne Conference Center.

At Godley 6th Grade Campus, Christian Valle and Alexa Castillo earned second- and third-place honors in the poster contest for students in grades 3-6.

Godley Middle School students Makenzie Swiger and Havyn Lilly were recognized in the seventh- and eighth-grade essay contest, earning first and third place, respectively.

At Godley High School, junior Klara Pinkerton placed third in the grades 11-12 division. The recognition marks her third consecutive year to place in the competition.

The annual contest, sponsored by Soil and Water Conservation District 541 along with the state board and association, encourages students to explore the importance of conservation, resource development and the responsible use of natural resources through writing and artwork.
