Three winners from Godley ISD campus spelling bees competed in the area spelling bee on January 30, 2026, at the Cleburne ISD Central Administration Building.

Representing Godley ISD were Isaiah Castro, a second grader from R.B. Godley Elementary School; Tucker Darnaby, a fifth grader from Legacy Elementary School; and McKenzie Gibbs, a fifth grader from Pleasant View Elementary School.

Godley ISD was among several Johnson County school districts represented at the area competition.

The annual contest is sponsored by the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The area champion will advance to the Fort Worth regional spelling bee.
