Godley High School senior Colin Price is competing in the PURE Insurance Championship on September 20-25, 2022, in Pebble Beach, California.

The 54-hole golf event features 78 PGA TOUR Champions professionals, 78 First Tee juniors, and 156 Amateurs. The tournament is played at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course.

Price, 17, volunteers as a junior coach at First Tee – Fort Worth teaching life skills and golf to younger participants. He also serves on the Junior Advisory Committee for the youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges.

“First Tee has shaped my career and, more importantly, my personal qualities. They have taught me how to quickly handle issues by using the STAR method (stop, think, anticipate, respond) to discover the best solutions,” Price said. “Finally, I believe the First Tee has enabled me to be coachable, aware of my surroundings, and push myself outside of my comfort zone.”

As a GHS junior last spring, Price finished fifth at the Class 4A state golf tournament.  He placed 11th at the state contest when he was a sophomore in 2021.
