Godley Independent School District - Empowering Students

Logo Title

Godley Middle School showcased its student leadership, collaborative teaching practices and commitment to attendance and academic growth during a campus spotlight presentation at the Godley ISD Board of Trustees meeting on on January 29, 2026, at Godley High School.

Principal Stephanie Wynne framed the presentation through the district’s Community-Based Accountability System (CBAS), a locally developed framework based on the hopes and dreams of the Godley community and built around seven key pillars. CBAS measures the effectiveness of GISD schools, highlights successes and areas for growth, and incorporates state testing and accountability measures.

Wynne emphasized the campus’ focus on building a positive school culture that supports student learning and achievement. Teachers collaborate through professional learning communities to plan instruction, analyze data and support student needs. Teachers Shaina Clayton and Cassie Pavel shared how PLCs help guide lesson planning, instructional strategies, interventions and other student-centered initiatives.

The campus is also prioritizing student attendance. Current weekly attendance is 95.78%, with first-semester attendance finishing at 95.55%. Data show that middle school students with strong attendance are twice as likely to earn passing grades in math and language arts compared to students who are frequently absent.

Wynne also highlighted how teachers and staff continue to embrace change, work collaboratively and foster a positive learning environment for students.

To open the meeting, GMS students led the pledges to the United States and Texas flags and later presented trustees with small gifts in recognition of School Board Recognition Month.
