
Godley Middle School art students earned multiple honors at the 2026 Butterflies in the Garden Art Competition hosted by the Fort Worth Botanical Garden.
Recognized students include:
Award Winners
- Second Place ($50 prize): Melanie Garcia, 8th grade
- Third Place ($25 prize): Cheyenne Bills, 8th grade
Honorable Mention
- Avery Eddies, 7th grade
- Keller Kjornes, 6th grade
GMS art teacher Krista Richard praised the students’ effort and achievement.


“I am proud to share that Godley Middle School art students did an outstanding job at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden’s Butterflies in the Garden Art Competition,” Richard said. “Our program was limited to submitting only 10 student entries, and the competition included many exceptional works of art.”
She added that the recognition reflects both the students’ creativity and commitment to their craft.
“We are incredibly proud of these students for their creativity, hard work, and dedication. They represented Godley Middle School with excellence,” Richard said.
The annual competition highlights student artwork inspired by nature and is hosted by one of the region’s premier cultural destinations.
