Godley Middle School’s 7th grade leadership students are learning that leadership isn’t just about taking charge—it’s about character, responsibility, and practical skills that set the stage for success.
Under the guidance of teacher Rebecca Dooley, students explore topics ranging from positive character traits and effective letter writing to budgeting, table manners, and leadership qualities. Currently, students are practicing proper table etiquette, including both formal and informal place settings.
Principal Stephanie Wynne said, “Our leadership program helps students build confidence, responsibility, and practical skills that will serve them throughout life. Seeing our students practice table etiquette and other essential skills shows how engaged and committed they are to becoming strong leaders.”

The hands-on lessons give students real-world experience they can use now and in the future. With the current lessons on table manners, students are demonstrating poise and confidence as they practice new skills.
Godley Middle School’s leadership program aims to equip students with the tools to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
