Several Godley ISD staff members were honored at the school district’s end of year celebration on May 23, 2025, in the Godley High School Arena.

Recognized were the district teachers of the year.  Lacey Long, a third-grade teacher at Legacy Elementary School, was the Elementary Teacher of the Year, while Lindsay Simmons, an entrepreneurship teacher at Godley High School, was Secondary Teacher of the Year.

The Big Kahuna Award was presented to R.B. Godley Elementary School for overcoming state errors in accountability that put the campus into school improvement as well as building issues.

Legacy teacher Bethany Van Wart was honored with a Mike Tyson-autographed boxing glove in recognition of her standing up for the school district and public education.
