Godley ISD named Jimmy Palcic as the school district’s transportation director in September 2025.

Palcic is not new to Godley, having served as a bus driver for two years before departing to serve as a transportation tech with the local office of the Texas Department of Transportation.  He previously worked as a job superintendent for a family construction company, an operations manager for a woodworking business, and an operations administrator for an equipment rental service.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jimmy back to Godley ISD,” commented Jason Karnes, the district’s assistant superintendent. “His combination of hands-on experience, leadership and commitment to student safety makes him a tremendous asset to our district. We know he will continue to strengthen our transportation operations and support our mission of serving every student every day.”

A native of Valley Center, California, Palcic graduated from Orange Glen High School and attended Palomar College and the American Truck Driving School.

Over half of GISD students are bus riders in the 122-square mile school district, which employs drivers and monitors for 24 daily routes that transport students to and from school.  In addition, the department supports field trips and extracurricular travel as well as a white fleet for staff use.
