Godley ISD named Anthony Sims as the school district’s new transportation director on May 5, 2025.
Sims is new to Godley but has many years of experience in school transportation administration, having been in department leadership since 2018 for Lancaster, Midland and Fort Worth school districts.
“We are excited to have Anthony in Godley ISD to lead our growing transportation department,” commented Jason Karnes, the district’s assistant superintendent. “We know his experience will be essential in serving the students and families of the district.”
A native of Lancaster, Sims holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Jarvis Christian College and completed coursework toward a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas Permian Basin.
Over half of GISD students are bus riders in the 122-square mile school district, which employs drivers and monitors for 24 daily routes that transport students to and from school. In addition, the department supports field trips and extracurricular travel as well as a white fleet for staff use.
