Godley ISD extended an agreement to continue dual credit course offerings with Hill College during the April 22, 2024, school board meeting.
Trustees approved a memorandum of understanding for the 2024-25 school year to continue the program allowing Godley students to earn both high school and college credit through 13 courses in art appreciation, economics, English, government, history and statistics. The agreement also extends to two career and technical education courses - automotive and cosmetology.
In addition to Hill College, GHS offers a number of dual credit courses through McMurry University and Southwestern Adventist University. Eleven course are available through McMurry: economics, English, government, history, music appreciation, psychology and public speaking. SAU has one career and technical education course centered on emergency medical technicians.
Last month, GISD school board trustees extended the school district’s partnership with Tarleton State University for dual enrollment courses, which allow Godley students to earn college credit through year-long classes and have the option to add it to a college transcript at the conclusion of the course. Through the Tarleton Today program, course offerings for the 2024-25 school year will be two college-level English courses as well as college algebra, animal science and agricultural economics.
