Transparency Stars Texas Comptroller Recognizing Local Transparency Achievements

Godley ISD has earned Transparency Stars recognition from the state comptroller for excellence in traditional finances, debt obligations, and open government and compliance.  The school district announced the state recognition on October 17, 2024.

“Meaningful transparency leads to greater accountability,” commented Chief Financial Officer Spencer Davis. “Our local taxpayers work hard to earn every dollar they send to state and local governments. This is why we publish information about how and where those dollars are spent.”

Transparency Stars recognize local government entities that provide easy online access to important financial data. The comptroller’s office launched the Transparency Stars program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties and school districts making important strides to greater government transparency.

“Godley ISD has shown a continued commitment to providing taxpayers with a clear and meaningful analysis of its financial data. This effort achieves the goals set by my office’s Transparency Stars program,” said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar. “I am pleased to recognize Godley ISD for going above and beyond in its transparency efforts and being awarded for receiving these Transparency Stars.”

Information and data related to traditional finances, debt obligations and open government is available on the school district website at www.godleyisd.net/transparency.
