Godley High School student Reagan Wood advanced to the finals in Respiratory Therapy at the 2026 HOSA International Leadership Conference, held June 16-20 in Indianapolis, after advancing through area and state competition during the 2025-26 school year.

Wood earned her berth by placing third in Respiratory Therapy at the Texas HOSA State Leadership Conference in Corpus Christi in March. She previously qualified for state after advancing through the Area 5 Spring Leadership Conference.

At the international conference, Wood competed against top HOSA students from across the United States and several other countries, advancing to the finals in her event.

Wood also represented Godley in accepting the Silver Level Recognition Award from America's Blood Centers for the chapter's community blood donation efforts.

During the 2025-26 school year, Godley HOSA members organized three student-led blood drives, coordinating donor recruitment, event logistics and community outreach. The drives attracted 170 donors and resulted in 154 units of blood collected, earning the chapter Bronze Level Recognition at the state level and Silver Level Recognition at the international level. The chapter also received a $1,000 grant from Carter BloodCare to support blood drive initiatives during the 2026-27 school year.

Wood's advancement capped a historic year for the GHS HOSA chapter. The 2025-26 school year marked the program's first appearance at the state contest, its first student to qualify for the international competition and its first student to advance to the international finals.
