Godley High School won first place with both boys and girls teams at the District 10-4A tournament on March 27-28, 2023, at Mansfield National Golf Club.
The boys scored 709 (355-354) to best all district squads at the district tourney. The team was led by Colin Price (68-70=138), who placed first individually. Others were John David (87-91=178, 5th), Max Blair (89-94=183), Camden Darder (111-99=210) and Hagan Robertson (138-127=265).
Also capturing the district title, the Ladycats placed first with a team score of 871 (415-456). Emma Tyus was the top golfer with an individual score of 202 (96-106). Others on the squad were Bailee Barbaro (99-120=219, 3rd), Marleigh Thompson (106-114=220, 4th), Kelsey Harris (114-121=235, 5th) and Dallas Lane (130-116=246).
Competing as individual medalists were Madelynne Fitzgerald, Alyssa Hallak and Dax Tanskley.
Godley golf coach is Jason Hill.
Both teams advance to the Region II-4A tournament at Van Zandt Country Club in Canton. The girls tourney is Apr. 17-18 followed by the boys on Apr. 19-20.
