Godley High School submitted its student enrollment data for the University Interscholastic League’s biennial reclassification and realignment process on October 31, 2025.

The official enrollment for GHS is 939, an increase of 14% from 827 reported in 2023 and 32% from 712 in 2021. The growth reflects Godley ISD’s continued status as a fast-growing district, with overall enrollment increasing well above the state average.

The UIL will use the submitted figures to reclassify schools for academic, athletic, music and spirit competitions and to realign districts for the 2026–28 biennium. The official announcement is expected in early February 2026.

“Regardless of our classification, competition helps our students grow as leaders and teammates,” said Godley High School Principal Kurtis Flood. “We’re proud to see them learn lessons of perseverance, integrity and sportsmanship every time they represent Godley.”

GHS currently competes in Class 4A, with football designated in Class 4A Division II.

For the 2024–26 biennium, Class 4A includes 218 schools with student populations between 545 and 1,314. Within football, Division II schools enroll between 545 and 956 students, while Division I includes schools with 957 to 1,314 students. Class 5A schools range from 1,315 to 2,274 students, and Class 6A includes those with 2,275 and above.

“Our students continue to perform at a high level across every program — from athletics to cheer, academics and fine arts,” said Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear. “This growth is exciting because it reflects the strength of our community and the quality of opportunities we’re able to offer.”

The University Interscholastic League, a division of the University of Texas at Austin, serves as the governing body for educational extracurricular competitions in Texas public schools. Its mission is to provide enriching, character-building activities that promote teamwork, good sportsmanship, and fair play.
