Eight Godley High School students were selected for all-region band ensembles during auditions on December 2, 2023, at Irma Marsh Middle School in River Oaks.
Honor band members include Julia Roy (trumpet), Kannon Ward (percussion) and Thomas Zach (percussion).
For the Symphonic Band, selected were: Ketrevian Adams-Harris, clarinet; Hunter Hardin, tuba; Colton Moore, contra bass clarinet; Joshua Stacks, baritone saxophone; Illiana Villa, alto saxophone.
“All credit goes to the hard work of these awesome students and the tireless work of our woodwind guru Michelle Slayton, brass instructor Grayson Hancock, and percussion director David Kennedy,” commented GHS band director Joe Walker. “The amount of detail these directors give these students is admirable, and I cannot thank them enough for pouring everything they have into our students.”
Both Roy and Zach are advancing to area-round auditions, as they did last year. They are joined this year by Moore.
Area auditions are set for Saturday, Jan. 6 at Robinson High School. The Region 5/30 clinic and concert will be Jan. 19-20 at Kennedale High School.
