Godley High School celebrated Tarleton Day on November 5, 2025, recognizing seniors accepted to Tarleton State University and strengthening the campus’s ongoing partnership with the university.

Several members of the GHS Class of 2026 have been accepted to the NCAA Division I university in Stephenville as part of the Tarleton Distinguished High School Partnership Program.

During the celebration, representatives from Tarleton’s academic colleges and departments visited with students, offering guidance on admissions, housing, financial aid, scholarships and campus life.

Godley ISD’s partnership with Tarleton opens doors for students by providing automatic admission—with no ACT or SAT requirement—for those in the top half of their graduating class. The university also awards exclusive scholarships for Godley graduates and offers continued support in financial aid, degree planning, and peer mentorship opportunities.

In addition, GHS students can currently earn college credit through dual enrollment courses offered via the Tarleton Today program. Current classes include Advanced Animal Science, Agribusiness Management and Marketing, Anatomy and Physiology, College Algebra, Government, Statistics, and U.S. History.

“Tarleton Day is a great opportunity for our students to see that their goals are within reach,” said Kurtis Flood, GHS principal. “We’re proud of our partnership with Tarleton and excited to see so many of our seniors already taking that next step toward their future.”
