Ryan McFarland, a freshman at Godley High School, placed at the 4A TISCA North Zone swimming competition at the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Swim Center on December 2-3, 2022.

McFarland won second among 20 swimmers in the Boys 100 Backstroke, posting a time of 1:05:59 - only a second and half behind the event champion.  The GHS freshman also finished seventh in a field of 35 during the Boys 100 Freestyle with a finals time of 57.01 seconds.

The Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association meet featured competitors from 15 schools in Class 4A.

McFarland will next compete at District 5-4A meet set for Thursday, Jan. 19 at Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center’s natatorium in Fort Worth.
