Fifth grade students from Legacy Elementary School, Pleasant View Elementary School and R.B. Godley Elementary School participated in STEM Day on May 18, 2026, at La Moderna Field in Cleburne, hosted by the Cleburne Railroaders.
Organized by the Godley ISD Career and Technical Education Department, the event allowed students to enjoy a local baseball game, meet “Spike,” the Railroader mascot, and participate in a variety of hands-on science, technology, engineering and math activities throughout the ballpark.
The concourse and videoboard areas were transformed into interactive STEM stations, where local businesses, organizations and community partners provided demonstrations and activities designed to engage students in STEM learning through real-world applications.

The event combined education and entertainment while encouraging curiosity, problem-solving and innovation among students. Fifth graders also experienced the excitement of a professional baseball game as the Railroaders defeated the visiting Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 7-6.
