Godley ISD fifth graders were among area schoolchildren attending a Cleburne Railroaders exhibition game on May 8, 2023, at The Depot in Cleburne.

Organized by the GISD career and technical education department, the event allowed students to enjoy a local baseball game - complete with running bases, hotdogs and an opportunity to meet players and “Spike,” the Railroader mascot.

Sponsoring the Godley students were Pitcock’s Excavation and Haul Off, Owen Oil & Tools and both Dawn Sumrall and Keith Williams from the Sumrall Realty Team.

Originally founded in 1906, the Cleburne Railroaders are a member of the American Association and the number one Major League Baseball partner team in Texas. The Railroaders play at The Depot at Cleburne Station, located at the end of the Chisholm Trail Parkway thirty miles south of downtown Fort Worth.
