Forty-nine Godley FFA students at Godley High School and Godley Middle School received Greenhand degrees during the chapter meeting on October 15, 2024, at GHS.

Students earning the honors were Allyson Ainsworth, Dylan Brown, Kourtny Bullard, Cannon Carter, Angel Cerritos, Violet Clay, Easton Cook, Emerson Coleman, Berlynn Compton, Everly Coym, Evan Culbertson, Landon Davis-Wheeler, Eli Dickson, Zach Duncan, Axiry Duran Palomino, Bradley Fancher, Hayden Flood, Callie Foster, Sonnet Grier, Camden Hinton, Samuel Harry, Kimber Howard, Jordan Hutt, Cohen Jackson, James Jeffress, Barret Lynch, Porter Martin, Aubryana Meade, Dallas Miller, Saylor Pahanish, Hayden Redford, Briscoe Reeves, Bayleigh Richardson, Arianna Rodriguez, Kaycin Reo, Nathan Rivas, Maddison Rodriguez, Samuel Shockey, Zane Simmons, Anastasia Smith, Zane Still, Remington Travers, Jessye Tout, Kegan Welch, Zachary White, Brianna Williams, Jacob Williams, Dakota Wilmot and Landen Wyant. 

Welcoming the honorees were 2023-24 chapter officers:  president Caitlyn White, vice president Lila Heiner, secretary Nola Briscoe, treasurer Logan Wilson, reporter Klara Pinkerton, sentinel Tucker Clark, parliamentarian Taryn Franks and historian AJ Welch.

To receive the Greenhand Degree. FFA members must be enrolled in their first year of high school credit agricultural science, have satisfactory plans for a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program, and demonstrate understanding of the history and purpose of FFA.

In addition, members must meet the following requirements:

• learn and explain the FFA Creed, FFA Mission and Motto, and FFA salute

• describe and explain the meaning of the FFA emblem and FFA colors

• demonstrate an understanding of the FFA Code of Ethics and the proper use of the FFA jacket

• demonstrate an understanding of the history of the organization, the chapter constitution and bylaws and the chapter Program of Activities

• own or have access to the Official FFA Manual and the Official FFA Student Handbook

• submit a written application for the Greenhand FFA Degree
