Logo Title

Four Godley FFA teams competed in Future Farmers of America state judging contests during April and May 2025.

Career Development Events (CDEs) build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to put their knowledge into practice. Students began the statewide tournament in 29 different events, which reflect classroom instruction in basic technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

State teams with students from Godley High School and Godley Middle School include:

  • Cotton:  team (Tucker Clark, Klara Pinkerton, Cheyenne Williams, Logan Wilson)
  • Entomology:  team (Barrett Lynch, Bradey Thomas, Caitlyn White, Zach White)
  • Floriculture:  team (Nola Briscoe, Lila Heiner, Trynity Lively, Cameryn Meade), 12th in state; individual - Lila Heiner, fifth
  • Wildlife:  team (Campbell Armstrong, Eli Dickson, Bradley Fancher, Zane Simmons)

State competitions featuring top teams representing each of the 12 state areas were held at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas Tech University in Lubbock and the Welder Wildlife Foundation in Sinton.

The Texas FFA is the nation’s largest state FFA association with a membership of more than 182,000 active members. FFA gives students the opportunity to apply practical classroom knowledge to real-world experiences through local, state, and national competitions.

FFA sponsors are Lacey Bennett, Leslie Bourgea, Lloyd Pinkerton, Millie Loftin and Katherine Adams.
