Six Godley FFA members earned the prestigious Lone Star FFA Degree during the 98th Texas FFA State Convention, one of the highest honors bestowed by the Texas FFA Association. The convention was held July 6-10, 2026, at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Receiving the Lone Star FFA Degree were Keagan Carter, Tucker Clark, Klara Pinkerton, Emma Stuck, AJ Welch and Cheyenne Williams.

The Lone Star FFA Degree recognizes members who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, academic achievement, community service and success in their supervised agricultural experience programs. To earn the degree, members must meet extensive requirements involving active participation in FFA activities, growth in their agricultural experience programs and service to their communities.

Four Godley FFA supporters also received the Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree during the convention. Honorees were Godley FFA sponsor Millie Sinclair, volunteers Greg and Jennifer Miller, and parent and school board trustee Christa Heiner.

The Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree recognizes individuals who have provided exceptional service and support to agricultural education and the FFA organization.

The state convention concluded another successful year for Godley FFA, with members earning honors in Leadership Development Events, Career Development Events and Speaking Development Events while continuing the chapter's tradition of excellence in agricultural education.

Godley FFA also welcomed its 2026-27 chapter officers. Serving the chapter this year are President Tucker Clark, Vice President Klara Pinkerton, Secretary Zane Simmons, Treasurer Madison Fry, Reporter Barrett Lynch, Sentinel Hayden Flood, Parliamentarian Allyson Ainsworth and Historian Dylan Brown.

The chapter also will be represented in leadership beyond the local level during the 2026-27 school year. Tucker Clark will serve as an Area VIII FFA officer, while Ava Jackson will serve as Chisholm Trail District first vice president.

Sponsors are GISD agricultural science teachers Lacey Bennett, Lloyd Pinkerton, Millie Sinclair, Katherine Adams and Shelby Brown.
