Godley High School and Godley Middle School students showcased leadership, communication skills and agricultural excellence during the Chisholm Trail District FFA Convention on April 15, 2026. 

Chapter members represented Godley FFA with professionalism, enthusiasm and pride while connecting with students from across the district, according to sponsors

The convention featured leadership sessions, speaking development events, degree recognitions and officer elections that helped students grow as leaders and prepare for future opportunities in agriculture.

Godley FFA members also earned major leadership positions during the convention. Tucker Clark was elected to serve as an Area VIII officer, and Ava Jackson was elected Chisholm Trail District treasurer.

Logan Wilson also represented Godley in the talent contest and placed third.

Several students posted strong results in speaking development events, which help students strengthen communication, critical thinking and public speaking skills.

Senior Prepared Public Speaking

  • Natural Resources: Lila Heiner, third place
  • Agricultural Policy: Ava Jackson, fourth place
  • Plant Systems: Taryn Franks, first place (advances to area)
  • Soil Stewardship: Hayden Flood, third place
  • Tech and Communications: Zane Simmons, first place (advances to area)

Junior Prepared Public Speaking

  • Je’nessa Melgoza, fourth place

Extemporaneous Speaking

  • Animal Science: Dakota Wilmont, sixth place

Godley FFA also celebrated Klara Pinkerton, who advanced to the area level with both her Star Award and Proficiency Award - an incredible accomplishment that reflects dedication and excellence in agricultural education.

In addition, the following students will advance to the area level after earning the Lone Star Degree, one of the highest honors awarded by the Texas FFA Association: Kaegan Carter, Tucker Clark, Dominic Masidonio, Klara Pinkerton, Emma Stuck, AJ Welch and Cheyenne Williams.

Godley FFA is part of the district’s commitment to student readiness, leadership development and real-world learning opportunities through agricultural education.
