Godley FFA members shined at the Chisholm Trail District’s Leadership Development Events competition on November 13, 2024, at Cleburne High School.

Advancing to area level are students competing in public relations as well as Greenhand quiz and skills.

Godley results were:

• Agricultural Advocacy:  team, fifth (Everly Coym, Taryn Franks, Kaidynce Haws, Saylor Pahanish)
• Greenhand Chapter Conducting:  team, third (Allyson Ainsworth, Eli Dickson, Bradley Fancher, Hayden Flood, Camden Hinton, Barrett Lynch, Zane Simmons)
• Greenhand Creed Speaking:  Dylan Brown, 12th
• Greenhand Quiz:  team, second and area qualifier (Eli Dickson, Bradley Fancher, Hayden Flood, Zane Simmons)
• Greenhand Skills:  team, second and area qualifier (Porter Martin, Aubry Meade, Jessye Tout, Zach White)
• Job Interview:  Nola Briscoe, 10th
• Public Relations:  team, first and area qualifier (Lila Heiner, Ellie Motsios, Landon Tarwater, Caitlyn White)
• Radio Broadcasting:  team, third (Kaidynce Haws, Lila Heiner, Caitlyn White)
• Senior Spanish Creed Speaking:  Alberto Diaz, third
• Senior Quiz:  team, sixth (Nola Briscoe, Tucker Clark, Klara Pinkerton)

LDEs focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. Team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms.

The Area VIII competition is on Friday, Nov. 22 at Hillsboro High School.
