Students at Legacy Elementary, Pleasant View Elementary, and R.B. Godley Elementary are discovering real-world connections among math, science, health, and agriculture with visits from the Southwest Dairy Farmers Mobile Dairy Classroom.
Students are experiencing the outdoor program, which features a live cow and a trained instructor demonstrating the milking process while explaining dairy cow anatomy, milk production, and the journey from farm to table. Students see how math and science support dairy farming, how nutrition contributes to healthy living, and how technology ensures safe, high-quality milk.
“The mobile dairy classroom turns lessons into a living experience,” said Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear. “Students see how what they learn in class applies to everyday life—from animal care to healthy eating.”
