Godley Middle School eighth grade boys won first place at the Glen Rose cross country invitational on September 11, 2024, at Squaw Valley Golf Course.
Camden Riney (12:33.85) and Aiden Moreno (12:50.32) finished second and third among the 101 boys in the grade-level 3.2k run. Also competing were Victor Arvizu, Jack Blocker, Dylan Mourning, Jacob Williams, Eric Collins, Kason Beck, Cohen Jackson, Keaton Wortham and Maddix Leverett. The squad was first in the ten-team field.
For the seventh grade boys, Kasyn Barrientos was the top runner with a finish of 12:40.55 to lead all 152 runners. Others running in the division were Lucas Rabaste, Jayden Cragle, Axel Green, Josiah Collins, Austin Young, Ethan McCarter, John Switzer, Landon Babbitt, Landon Ogle, Jonathan Ivy, Lelan Salach, Ronin Tiefenbrun, Jaykob Cheney and Gavin Damron.
Leighton Murphy (14:10.76) led the eighth grade girls with a seventh-place finish among 143 runners. Others on the squad were Kinley Simmons, Saylor Pahanish, Makenna Jaskolowski, Laney Mullins, Brianna Williams, Mackenzie Hayes, Dakota Wilmot, Caylee Price, Alison Zamarripa, Emerie Brawner, Kourtny Bullard, Liliana Olalde and Naomi Reyes.
For the seventh grade girls, Baylor Welborn (15:04) was the top runner, finishing fourth in the 132-runner field. Others in the race were Gracie DeFoor, Makenna Robinson, Erin Clark, Maddox Hill, Jillian Hughey, Makenzie Swiger, Makayla Swiger, Margaret Struc, Maesey Singleton, Harper Jabri, Piper Wade and Mia Alejandro.
