Godley High School cheerleaders placed at the NCA High School Nationals on January 24-26, 2025, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.
In the team’s first-ever appearance at the national contest, the GHS girls earned 12th place in the Game Day Varsity Medium division. “It was an exceptionally good weekend,” said cheer sponsor Amanda Musselman.
Teams combine their band chant, cheer and fight song with a Game Day situational response to showcase in one three-minute performance. This division celebrates how spirit programs work together to enhance their Game Day and rally experience.
The GHS squad earned the national bid after placing fifth in the Game Day Varsity Medium division at the NCA North Texas Regional competition on Nov. 10 in Rockwall. The Godley girls also shined at the UIL State Spirit Championships on Jan. 27-28 in Fort Worth, making the finals and finishing 19th among 61 schools competing in Class 4A Division II.
The 2024-25 cheer squad is led by captains Peyton Bower and Marleigh Thompson Members are Kennedy Black, Harlee Brown, Makenzie Crawford, Britton Everroad, Brooke Gallagher, Cali Harrington, Taylour Lewis, Kenadie Martin, Katie Ponce, Raelyn Revland, Maddilynne Schlick, Ava Siddall, Abbie Smith, Paola Valenzuela and Sady Williams.
