Godley 6th Grade Campus highlighted gains in student attendance, campus culture and academic progress during a spotlight presentation at the Godley ISD Board of Trustees meeting on April 20, 2026, at Godley High School.

Principal Jayme Duckett centered the presentation on the campus theme, “Game On: Dream, Persist, Triumph,” showcasing how intentional systems and student engagement efforts are helping students succeed.

Attendance was a major focus. The campus set a goal of increasing attendance by 1 percent during the 2025-26 school year and reported gains each month compared with the prior year. March attendance reached 95.66 percent, up 1.08 percentage points from last year.

Duckett shared several schoolwide initiatives designed to make attendance meaningful and fun for students. Programs included a Clue-themed campus game in October, a Monopoly-style incentive in which students with perfect attendance rolled dice to earn prize points, and a spring Game Week featuring daily engagement activities and prizes.

The presentation also highlighted efforts to strengthen campus culture and climate for staff. In response to survey feedback, the campus implemented monthly pulse surveys, a weekly Teacher of the Week recognition and Sunshine Committee celebrations focused on appreciation, belonging and morale.

Academic progress was another key highlight. Based on MAP assessment projections, the campus reported projected STAAR passing rates of 84 percent in math and 88 percent in English language arts and reading, aligning with campus goals for continued growth.

The campus also recognized the leadership and service of its student council, which participated in the TEPSA Leadership Conference, organized a school dance fundraiser, supported community outreach efforts such as Angel Tree and elementary visits, welcomed new students through orientation, and assisted with campus responsibilities.

Honored were student council officers: Emerson Roady, president; Maci Eddleman, vice president; Brielle Harper, secretary; Emilee Marski, treasurer; and Remington Tilley, historian. 

 Godley ISD regularly features campus spotlights at board meetings to celebrate accomplishments, share progress and highlight how schools are serving students through the district’s Community-Based Accountability System, a locally developed framework based on the hopes and dreams of the Godley community and built around seven key pillars.
