Godley Middle School students honored Veterans Day with a special assembly on November 11, 2025.

The celebration included recognition of family members and community members who have served in the United States armed forces. The special guest speaker was GMS parent Matthew Staton, a Johnson County assistant district attorney who served in the U.S. Air Force, as a judge advocate general in the U.S. Army, and currently in the Texas Air National Guard.

National Junior Honor Society student speakers organized a White Table presentation—also known as the Missing Man Table or Fallen Comrade Table—to honor and remember those who are fallen, missing, or imprisoned while serving our country.

NJHS students leading the presentation were Ifeoluwa Adedoja, Addison Barnes, Silas Brawley, Ariiyana Cantrell, Gracie DeFoor, Jadyn Hutt, Ander Pitcock, Kolton Pinkerton, Brandylin Reo, Wyatt Shannon, Gracie Souther, Peyton Tanksley, Blakely Thompson and Max Van Wart.

Godley FFA members presenting flags and leading pledges were Keeley DeLeon, Ariel Marin Gudiel, MaKenna Robinson, Valerie Oviedo and Isabella Velazquez.

Door greeters were Wyatt Goudy, Wyatt Ivy and Nash Staton.

The GMS Honor Band performed "An American Celebration." GMS teacher Ashley Blue sang the National Anthem, and GMS band director Grayson Hancock performed "Taps" following a moment of silence.
