Godley Middle School was in the spotlight at the Godley ISD school board meeting on January 23, 2025, at Godley High School.
Principal Stephanie Wynne reported current enrollment of 486 in seventh and eighth grades - up almost 10% from last school year. She reviewed numbers for special populations with campus staff providing additional instructional support for these students. In particular, she highlighted intervention hours completed and an evident drop in failure rate, tardies and discipline referrals.
She discussed the school’s implementation of the community-based accountability system, which is based upon the hopes and dreams of the Godley community and built around seven important pillars. CBAS is a locally-developed accountability system, measures benefits and effectiveness of GISD schools, highlights district successes and areas for improvement, and incorporates state testing and accountability.
Wynne and Assistant Principal Jaclyn Trussell presented student leaders in the National Junior Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The students led pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags at the beginning of the meeting.
